The Dyson Air Wrap launched on October 9, 2018, and automatically sold out. Dyson actually had admitted they weren’t as prepared as they could have been for that launch in terms of stock. They knew people were going to buy it but they didn’t know it was going to fly off the proverbial shelves in a matter of hours.
I didn’t either, so I hadn’t thought to log onto Dyson dot com for a hair tool launch. By the time I made the decision to purchase it a few days later, I couldn’t find one. The only one avail, if I recall correctly, was on eBay for $1400. There was an option to join a waitlist that was tens of thousands of people long. I was PISSED (at myself). This was long before a supply chain crisis.
I ended up finding one in a serendipitous act. I was at Ulta a few weeks later and a woman in front of me was returning the one she had purchased. I immediately asked if I could buy it. Ulta staff rang me up and gave me a 10% discount because it had been opened.
It’s a lot easier to get an Air Wrap now but the tool has a cult following, and they never stay on the shelves for long. Sephora sold out of their VIB stock within the first hour of opening up the sale to the VIB tier at 15%. Saks is sold out. Nordstrom is on backorder.
Ulta still has them in stock, for now. If you want one, now is the time. You may get lucky on Black Friday with a sale, but as is the case with many door-busting products, it will require you to stay up late and chance your luck. 3% cash back from Rakuten will put $16.50 back in your pocket if you buy on Ulta right now. I know it’s not the same as 15% but it’s not nothing.
“But I’m not sure if I’ll like it,” you’re telling me. Okay! Most stores have generous return policies, especially through the holidays. Ulta’s is great: Product(s) returned within 60 days of the original purchase that include the original receipt (or can be verified in our system using your Ultamate Rewards member ID), will be fully refunded via the original form of payment. Otherwise, the refund will be made in the form of an in-store credit.
Save your receipt.
“What if I use it and like it but then in a few months I find that I am never reaching for it?” you ask me. If that’s the case, you can recoup a lot of your money back by selling it on eBay or Poshmark. Though if you start out loving it, you’re going to stay loving it.
Just one person’s opinion!!

Let’s see what else…oh, yes! The Holiday Bra (named by us) from GAP is selling very fast. Tomorrow is the last day you can get it on super duper sale. Some colors are out, but your purchase will get you GAP cash that you can spend on them once they restock. I know how boring the beige looks but it’s actually my favorite one. It’s more camel than beige, and it looks very chic. I washed mine last night and yes I am wearing it again.
You can still get 15% off the Nori Press iron with code GEETHANKS15!
