What: The Seamless Ribbed Bralette by GAP
How much?: $34, but right now it’s 40% off with code FRIEND (down to $21), an additional 10% off if you have a GAP card (down to $19), and 6% cash back with Rakuten ($1.14 back). Potential total cost: $17 and change. Sale will end at 11:59p on November 10.
Anything I should know?: I am wearing one right now. I bought 4 more the second I put it on. I wish it was more size inclusive, but it goes from XS-XXL (20/22). I am wearing an XL and usually wear a 16 in tops. It is so comfortable, omg.
Pssst, check out our gift guides as they roll out!
We’re naming this bra The Holiday Bra because it’s the perfect thing to wear under your pajamas or sweats or loungewear while you’re hanging out with your family. Nothing kills the vibe of cozy clothes more than a BRA, but sometimes you need to put a little fabric and support between your top and your boobs when you’re hanging out with parents (anyone’s parents). My in-laws’ Thanksgiving is a 2-day event and the first year I went I was SO unprepared. I had brought regular clothes and then just an oversized tee shirt to sleep in. But they do a lot of hanging out in pajamas and cozy clothes in their family and I was stuck watching Love, Actually in jeans while everyone else was in sweatpants and slippers. That movie is like, two hours long. IN JEANS! After eating Thanksgiving dinner! The next year I didn’t just bring whatever pajamas I could find, I brought lounge outfits. But I still wore my underwire bra underneath, yikes.
Now, 8 thanksgivings later, this bra is the answer.
It sits so nicely and doesn’t roll up, there are no adjustable straps or itchy seams, and it also provides solid support to hold you in and a thick enough fabric to mask anything you may want to mask. A sports bra can do this job fine, but often a sports bra brings compression and moisture wicking material into play. That’s too intense. This bra feels like a lounge outfit on its own. It’s so comfortable. You would never mistake it for a workout top. It was made for horizontal couch time, though I did wear it under a long sleeve shirt to the dog park this morning and felt fine about it. I will say that if you are smaller-chested, you will probably feel more comfortable wearing this as an everyday bra as well.
I picked it up on a whim the other day when I was in the store checking out ~the goods~ and I nearly put it back. I AM SO GLAD I DID NOT PUT IT BACK. I am so MAD that I didn’t buy more while I was there. I bought more online.
Similar to the $12 Target bodysuit that’s been going super viral around here lately (thank you Lindsay Silberman!), The Holiday Bra just feels, to the touch, like it should be more expensive. It looks sexy and adult without trying. And the price is solidly affordable even without the sale. $34 full retail is about the toppest of top dollar amounts I would be willing to spend on a bra that I can’t wear to an event, but GAP does so many sales that I very likely won’t ever have to. The sale going on right now is their Friends and Family sale which gives you 40% off with code FRIEND and another 10% off if you have a GAP card.
If you’re looking for the perfect “Oh, these? These are just my pajamas” pajamas to pack for your holiday travels, this set is fab.
