Last night I went to a taping of Watch What Happens Live thanks to the amazing team at Flagship who hooked us up with the ultimate VIP experience.
For those of you who don’t know, I am the ultimate scholar of Bravo.
I got my degree in undergrad from the college of Real Housewives of New York, New Jersey and OC, and later got my masters in Beverly Hills, Atlanta, and Potomac. I am currently studying for my doctorate in Salt Lake City, and I have a certificate of achievement in Summer House and Southern Charm. When I was in Europe last year on the EPL, I downloaded an entire season of RHONJ and would play it in my ears while I was walking around on days I woke up feeling lonely and out of my comfort zone. Nothing tethers me to Earth more than the sound of overly tanned Italian Americans screaming at each other in jewel-toned polysilk. I mean that. Teresa Guidice, if you’re out there, you make me feel less alone in this big bad world.
For the uninitiated, WWHL is a late-night style after show and films in front of a live audience in Manhattan. Before the show producers usher host Andy Cohen out to the audience for an ad-hoc Q+A.
And since the audience is only 20 people (!), the producers assured us that if we had a question for Cohen, he would answer it. And, they told us, it didn’t have to be about Bravo.
I was the first person to raise my hand (shocking, I know), and I asked Professor Cohen about the best gift he ever gave someone. I was hoping to use his answer as a starting point to the Gee Thanks! gift guides this season.
He looked pensive for a split second, and I secretly thought, okay, wow, maybe no other audience member in his 1800+ live show tapings had asked this question. This is going to be good.
Then he gave me his answer.
