Email anxiety? Yes.
Pushing through to tell you about stacking sale codes that work on our fav skincare products.
It’s been a minute, but the newsletter is back! A new year always takes me a few months to settle into; there’s so much pressure to go really really hard and that pressure often makes me freeze. Even though I am recording and publishing new episodes every week and spend a ton of time on Instagram stories and in the Facebook group doing sales content and recs, I couldn’t get in an email state of mind.
Until…today! Specifically, right now.
Some 2022 housekeeping (skip this if it isn’t news to you!)
I added another type of episode to our weekly lineup. It’s just me, riding solo, going through the top 3 most purchased items by the Gee Thanks! community the week prior. This doesn’t take the place of the regular Friday episodes with guests.
The Gee Thanks! Facebook group just hit 10,000 members! Are you one of those 10k?!
Nora and I are still recording our Patreon podcast about early 2000s reality tv. We are about to wrap Laguna Beach and invited Kate Kennedy for a full 2 hour trip down memory lane to talk about nostalgia, high school hook ups, and of course, drama. It’s a must listen, if I do say so myself.
NOW…THE SALE
I knew I couldn’t go one more day without sending an email when I got a whiff of this big beauty and skin sale happening right now at Skinstore. A lot of my (and now our!) favorites are part of the sale, with discounts between 20-40% off retail price.
But the best part is, our special code STACKS! So GeeThanks10 will work on the discounted price for an extra 10% off. (Plus, 4% cash back, as all smart shoppers know!)
Here’s what’s in my cart:
Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen (25% off): I have written about this magical product before. To quote, well, me: “I am the first person in line to find the cheaper dupe of an expensive thing. Which is why I find it infuriating when I try something expensive and it actually works. Algenist sent me a bottle of their Genius Liquid Collagen back in 2018 and after I googled how much it cost I decided I’d use it, feel superior when it didn’t work, and then go on with my life. Sadly, things took a turn when this magical little bottle of neon yellow gloop began to make my face look glowier, more hydrated, and bouncier. In the same way that a few coats of mascara can make your eyes look bright and bushy-tailed on an 8:30am Zoom call, Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen does the same thing to your skin. I swear it even makes me feel more awake when I put it on. It has also moderately minimized the lines around my eyes and on my neck and forehead.”
You guys sold this stuff out last October. Twice. (Really, they emailed me about it.) My only note: Don’t stock up. You don’t want expired products taking up shelf space in your bathroom. I buy about two bottles a year. One right now and one in November — and I always buy when it’s on sale.
NEST Candles, Reed Diffusers, and Room Sprays (20% off): Another bestseller with this crowd! NEST everything. Right now my favorite scents (3-wick candles burn forever, btw) are: Cedar Leaf and Lavender, Grapefruit Classic, and Moroccan Amber. But you can’t go wrong. For stress-prone holiday shoppers, they have their Birchwood Pine candle avail. And while the quintessential Christmas scent tends to sell out year after year, you can bet that it’s selling a lot slower this time of year as opposed to the next time this sale comes around, which is right ahead of Thanksgiving.
Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel (25% off): This exfoliate was a recommendation from guest Megan Carranza and ever since I purchased it, I’ve been trying to figure out how I’ve gone this long without using it. Without the harshness of the exfoliates of yore (looking at you, St. Ives Apricot Scrub), the PTR FirmX Peeling Gel gently but with force, just, slides that layer of dead skin off your face.
This is a 2x/week product. Not every day. No matter how good it feels, not every day. You have to promise me this. Not every day. In fact, I really really look forward to the days I use it because it’s almost like a contest. If I go a few days without scrubbing, how much satisfaction can I get by using this product? The more dead skin, the more satisfaction. I also use it on my neck, but use a body scrub on my chest. I mean, really, in this economy?
Raincry Shampoo and Conditioner (25% off): I tried this duo with a recommendation from Sarah of My Sister Made Me Buy It, and I totally get the hype. It really leaves hair looking healthier, stronger, richer. I recommend buying it ahead of summer when beachy things and pool things and sun things bring damage to your locks. Raincry is like a reset button. Speaking of, if you want to focus on resetting your hair, take advantage of…
Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt (25% off): And if you want to talk about cult following, look no further than this scalp scrub. If you’re putting effort into bringing damaged hair back to life but skipping #ScalpCare, reconsider. A little goes a long way, so buying a tub of this stuff on sale will last ya til it goes on sale again!
This is hardly an exhaustive list of the current sale, and GeeThanks10 should work on top of any current discounted price tag, so try your luck on the products you’ve been meaning to stock up on and happy shopping!
Looking forward to seeing you a little more regularly around here ;)
xo,
Caroline
